Course Outcomes:

Organ Systems Development

Students will identify the developmental trajectories of the various organ systems and why abnormalities at any step in the lineage of organogenesis may cause birth defects.

Effective Communication

Students will be able to communicate with health professionals effectively regarding embryonic events from conception to birth and the ramifications of each event in instances of health and disease.

Intercellular Signaling

Students will demonstrate how signaling between participating cells leads to important events during the first, second, third, and fourth weeks of development.
