Entrepreneurs seek to make the world a better place by creating valuable products and services that improve the lives of customers and add value to the economy. Entrepreneurs may create and start business ventures to bring these ideas to market, while others pursue these efforts as employees in companies ranging from startups to established firms. Others may focus on acquiring, owning and managing business ventures of all sizes and types. No matter where they find themselves, entrepreneurs seek to discover problems and innovate to solve those problems.

What Can Human Resource Graduates Do?
Human resource professionals’ main focus is to recruit, develop, and retain the employees of an organization. They maximize an organization’s use of talent by finding and hiring capable employees and providing training and development experiences. As the bridge between managers and employees, they maintain positive employee relations and improve employee satisfaction, and performance. They administrate employee benefits, supervise development and wellness programs, and oversee disciplinary systems and rewards programs. Professionals may also focus their efforts on the organization as a whole by consulting with upper-level managers to implement changes to leadership or to an organization’s structure, strategy, or culture.
A company’s strategy is a plan to gain and sustain competitive advantage. This plan reflects how company leaders think about what it takes to succeed in their market. At its core, strategy is the idea that successful companies will figure out how to offer to customers unique value that cannot be imitated by competitors.
What Do Business Strategists Do?
Strategists help a company achieve competitive advantage by developing plans that allow the company to offer unique value to their customers. Strategists collect and analyze information about competitors, customers, and the resources and capabilities of the company. Strategists use this analysis to make recommendations about where to invest and what actions to take, over time, in order to achieve superior firm performance. Recommendations may address revenue growth, competitive positioning, acquisitions, building internal processes and capabilities, structuring existing assets or resources, entering new markets, product launches, or any other aspects that can result in higher performance for the company or ensure that competitors will find it difficult to imitate a company’s moves.
Strategists work in several interesting roles such as business managers, business analysts, consultants, corporate strategists, and product management.
