Defined Career Purposes

Develop overall language and cultural competence needed to study and begin entry into a career agreed upon by the Center for Language Studies.

Knowledge

Carry out research to identify, understand, and discuss standards, processes, people and cultural norms associated with the target career.

Interpretive Competence

Understand, interpret and analyze advanced-level written and oral texts on topics related to the target career.

Communicative Competence

Communicate effectively at the advanced-level in order to function in a variety of situations likely to be encountered when dealing with native speakers who are associated with the target career. This will include interpersonal communication and both written and oral presentational communication.

Cultural Competence

Interact with cultural competence and understanding when dealing with native speakers who are associated with the target career.
