Students will develop comprehension and learning strategies to help them derive meaning from a wide variety of authentic language texts.

Students will be able to speak Norwegian well enough to satisfy immediate needs. (They will learn to communicate in basic social situations, meet routine travel needs, obtain food and lodging, carry out simple transactions, and talk about a variety of topics of common interest primarily in the present, with limited use of other time frames.)
