Current analysis of genes and genomes; computational approaches for interpreting genomic data, including genome sequencing and annotation, gene expression and the transcriptome, functional genomics, metagenomics, and genetic variation and SNPs.

Students will be able to communicate technical science to an expert or lay audience by understanding the concepts underlying genomics tools and summarizing these tools orally and in writing, in both technical and non-technical terms
