Course Outcomes: 

Content and Learning

Understand the Lord's "divine design" (Proc. ΒΆ 7) for marriage relationships (e.g., the nature of the marriage covenant, equal partnership, stewardships of husbands & wives, etc).

Increase awareness of marriage as a social institution.

Become sensitized to the modern threats to marriage.

Increase understanding of the LDS doctrines of marriage, including prophetic counsel on dating, courtship, intimacy, weddings, finances, divorce, and other aspects of the marital stewardship.

Increase awareness of the factors that social science research has shown to contribute to the formation and maintenance of healthy and stable marriages.

Enhance spiritual awareness and academic skills in order to help them weigh scholarly and contemporary ideas about marriage relationships and use both faith and scholarship.

Critically explicate your awareness of marriage as a social institution.

Identify and be sensitive to modern cultural threats to marriage.

Be able to grasp and understand the LDS doctrines of marriage, including prophetic counsel on dating, courtship, intimacy, weddings, finances, divorce, and other aspects of the marital stewardship.

Increase your awareness of the factors that social science research has shown to contribute to the formation and maintenance of healthy and stable marriages.

Enhance your spiritual awareness and academic skills in order to help you critically weigh scholarly and contemporary ideas about marriage relationships and use both faith and scholarship to "hold fast to that which is good" (1Thess. 5:21).
