Learning Outcome

Students will become familiar with the major political, social, cultural, and economic aspects of pre-revolutionary Russia.  They will also explore and analyze such concepts as autocracy, Westernization, and empire.

They will also learn how to establish connections between events, movements, and ideas for the time period covered in the course and to apply their knowledge of history to the world around them.
