Learning Outcome
Based on readings at an intermediate-high level, students will be able to use Japanese at a level approach advanced to narrate and describe key concepts in Japanese history and culture. Students will be able to discuss these topics extensively in conversational settings using detailed and precise language, and to write about them in short essays. Students will also be able to articulate how their communication abilities enable them to contribute meaningfully to personal and professional communities.

Learning Outcome
Based on readings and in-class discussions, students will demonstrate an understanding of Japanese values and perspectives by describing foundational events in Japanese history and key concepts of Japanese culture. Students will also be able to articulate how such understandings enable them to handle culturally and linguistically diverse situations, encourage greater unity and belonging among all of God's children.
