Course Description

Continued development of aural skills through melodic dictation, rhythm dictation, harmonic dictation, and error detection; listening materials include longer, arpeggiated melodies, more advanced rhythms, and diatonic harmonic progressions.

Melodic dictation

Learning Outcome

Students will be able to accurately transcribe diatonic melodies that contain large leaps and diatonic arpeggiations.

Students will be able to accurately transcribe the outer voices and identify the harmonies in diatonic chord progressions.
