Title

Basic Tenets of Deviance and Social Control

Learning Outcome

Students will develop an understanding of how rulemaking, rule violation and rule enforcement are basics tenets of all human existence. This includes an understanding of informal and formal mechanisms of social control, and a broad understanding of deviance as a social construction, influenced by power, race, class, gender, time, and location.
