Study morphology, phonetics, phonology, syntax, and semantics in relation to Korean and other languages. Increase awareness of social significance, universality, diversity, complexity of linguistics with the goal of participating more ethically in linguistically diverse communities.

learn to communicate effectively, in a professional setting, about major linguistic theories, current issues, and topics among linguists. You will also be equipped with tools and techniques for linguistic analysis.
understand and be proficient in the subfields of linguistics: phonetics, phonology, morphology, semantics, syntax, psycholinguistics, and sociolinguistics.
learn to navigate their cultural and linguistic beliefs, attitudes, and usage and understand the diversity and similarity of language systems with a goal of participating more ethically in a variety of linguistic communities.
conceptualize the value of being able to navigate new discourses and narrate connections to relevant contexts
