Learning Outcome
Educator Preparation Program Outcomes This practicum course is part of your preparation for licensure in a major or minor that is part of the BYU Educator Preparation Program (EPP). This practicum experience will help you fulfill the competencies required for licensure as outlined in the BYU Professional Teacher Candidate Assessment Document. The Following are Level 1 Outcomes for this class.

Course Outcomes - Level 2
Learning Outcome
1. Students will identify the basic steps of the Backwards Design approach to curriculum development and use these steps to develop a curricular unit to be taught as part of the practicum experience in a middle school setting. 2. As part of their practicum experience, students will successfully develop and teach a curricular unit (including unit plan, lesson plans, assessments, lab experiences, instructional materials) in a middle school technology and engineering classroom. Note: the mentor teacher and the university supervisor will assess this practicum experience using the BYU TCA assessment. 3. During their practicum experience, students will demonstrate effective classroom management strategies.
