Course Description

Intensive development of oral and literacy skills at the Intermediate High to Advanced Low level, with emphasis on improving grammatical accuracy, fluency, and cultural competence. Intended to prepare students for Span 321 and subsequent courses.

Course fulfills GE Languages of Learning requirement. Students enrolled in the course may also be eligible to take the Spanish Challenge Exam for 12 credits (see Dept. of Spanish and Portuguese website for more information).

Analyze and interpret a selection of oral and written texts from Spanish-speaking countries, including short stories and journalistic articles, within their historical and cultural context.
