Course Description
Designing an Early Childhood curriculum based on child development as hands-on experiences are created to meet children's individual learning needs and address contextual factors in the child's life experiences.

Due to enrollment constraints, ECE 331 may not be retaken to improve a grade unless approved by the Child and Family Studies Laboratory Steering Committee.

Learning Outcome
Become conversant with developmentally appropriate practice standards published by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).
Understand how developmentally appropriate practice applies to making effective educational decisions that benefit children and enhance their growth and development.
Gain a functional understanding of how teachers within a developmental model implement appropriate guidance and classroom management stragegies, create and modify effective learning environments, facilitate and scaffold learning and, develop strategies to meet the diversity of needs in the children and families they serve.
