Title

study designs

Learning Outcome

demonstrate understanding of common study designs used in clinical and epidemiological research (cohort studies, case-control studies, cross-sectional studies, clinical trials);

Title

ethics

Learning Outcome

articulate potential ethical concerns for each type of design;

Title

measures of association

Learning Outcome

identify and compute appropriate measures of association for each type of design;

Title

Learning Outcome

describe types of censoring and the challenges presented in the analysis of censored data;

Title

Kaplan-Meier

Learning Outcome

estimate the survival function using the Kaplan-Meier method;

Title

proportional hazards

Learning Outcome

fit proportional hazards regression models;

Title

diagnostic tests

Learning Outcome

determine sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values for diagnostic tests;

Title

logistic regression

Learning Outcome

apply logistic regression and conditional regression models to cohort and case-control studies;

Title

odds ratios

Learning Outcome

interpret odds ratios from logistic regression models;
