Survey of Hispanic Literature for Spanish Teachers

Course Description

Historical overview of representative authors, texts, and movements from the literatures of Spain and Latin America. In addition to demonstrating an understanding of the Hispanic literary tradition, students will develop pedagogical resources and strategies for teaching these literatures in the secondary school classroom, with special attention to works featured on the current Spanish Literature AP reading list.

Prepare a pedagogically sound unit of instruction for a secondary-level Spanish course based on a literary work from the AP Reading List, demonstrating competence in library research skills and the appropriate use of secondary sources.
