Course Description

This course attends to advanced levels of planning and assessment (e.g., accommodation, differentiation, levels of planning, integration, response to intervention). Students will have the opportunity to work in a Professional Learning Community to maximize planning and assessment.

Learning Outcome

Teacher candidates will describe various key contextual factors, how they impact instruction and assessment in terms of accommodations and differentiation, and what steps the teacher will take to attend to the specific setting in which they are teaching.

Levels of Planning

Learning Outcome

Teacher candidates will design various levels of planning, including daily small box lesson plans, unit planning, and yearly curriculum mapping.

Accommodation and Differentiation

Learning Outcome

Teacher candidates will describe the rationale and process of appropriate accommodations and differentiation to meet specific needs of individual students, including Response to Intervention and Multi-tiered Systems of Support, and will differentiate and accommodate for student needs during practicum teaching experiences.

Teacher candidates will describe effective participation in Professional Learning Communities for both planning and assessment purposes.
